In order to implement the Community Directive 89/106/EEC and create standards for the evaluation of the performance of BLINDED DOORS, in 2006 the product standard EN 14351-1 was issued which, among other things, sets out the criteria to be adopted to classify the resistance to burglary of doors and windows (UNI ENV 1627 - UNI ENV 1628 UNI ENV 1629 - UNI ENV 1630).

Below is an explanation of the tests covered by the product standard EN 14351-1.

The burglar resistance characteristics of windows, doors, closures in general under the actions of static load, dynamic load, manual attack are evaluated. We simulate the most common actions taken by the burglar to enter the house. At the end of the tests are detected the damage suffered by the product and the time taken to open the window and door, based on these parameters, the resistance class of the window and door is established according to the indications provided by UNI ENV 1627.

Sequence of evidence
The test is divided into three basic steps:
1. Resistance under static load (e.g. a car crack) (UNI ENV 1628);
2. Resistance under dynamic load (e.g., impact by sledgehammer) (UNI ENV 1629);
3. Resistance to manual burglary attempt (burglar type) (UNI ENV 1630)
The first two assess the ability of the door leaf to withstand dynamic/static forces. The third test measures the time taken by operators to manually force the door, depending on the time taken and the destructive entity applied by the instruments used, and the behavior of the door frame during these tests, the class of belonging is determined. The following table shows the various burglary techniques according to the relative resistance classes.
